§ 5.01.020. Building inspector/official.

    Office Created; Supervision.

    1.

    The office of building inspector/official is created, and the city manager shall designate a city employee or employees to act and to be known as the building inspector/officials.

    2.

    The building inspector/official(s) shall be city employee(s) under the direction of the city manager or his designee.

    B.

    Duties.

    1.

    Generally.

    a.

    The building inspector/official(s) shall have the authority and responsibility to perform all the requirements specified title 5 and Arizona Revised Statutes or as required by this Code, ordinances and resolutions as adopted by mayor and council.

    b.

    Authority: Building inspector/official(s) shall enforce all provisions of the regulations adopted herein.

    c.

    Enforcement: The building inspector/official(s) shall issue such notices of determination and orders of corrective action as may be necessary to enforce compliance with state law and City Code regulations.

    2.

    Records Kept. The building inspector/official(s) shall keep comprehensive records of inspections made, or reports rendered, and of notices or orders issued.

    C.

    Cooperation From Other Officials. The building inspector/official(s) may request and shall receive necessary assistance and cooperation from other city officials in the discharge of his/her duties.
